Meet Chris

Honest Pool Service LLC was started in January 2018 by Christopher Amicucci, who brought 12+ years of experience servicing pools all over Brevard County with him. He went out on his own for one reason above the rest: to do reliable, trustworthy work the way he thought it should be done.

Chris has worked on just about every kind of residential pool there is, and he treats each one like it's his own. He's built the business on long-lasting relationships with his clients — the kind where you never think about your pool because you already know it's handled.

How Chris works

The business runs on a weekly route. Each service area has its day, so a pool in Suntree is serviced on the same weekday every week, a pool in Viera on its own day, and so on through Melbourne, West Melbourne, Suntree, Eau Gallie, and Viera. Keeping the route tight is what lets one person keep every promise on the schedule: fewer miles between stops means every stop gets the full routine rather than a quick skim because the day ran long.

A visit starts at the water. Chris tests chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer, and adds what the pool needs based on what the week did to it. Then the surface is skimmed, the walls and tile line brushed, the floor vacuumed, and the pump and skimmer baskets emptied. Once a month the filter comes apart and gets cleaned. Before he leaves, he looks over the equipment pad, because a pump that has started to sound different or a gauge that is reading high is worth catching early. If he finds something you should know about, you get a text that says what it is in plain words.

You will see him in a Honest Pool Service shirt, and you will see the same person every week. That is the point of staying small. A larger company sends whoever is available, and the technician at your gate may never have seen your salt cell or your older pump. Chris has seen yours dozens of times and notices when something changes.

Twelve years of Brevard County pools

Before starting the company in 2018, Chris spent years servicing pools for other companies across Brevard County, from older plaster pools on Melbourne's oak-shaded streets to newer salt systems in Viera and Suntree. That range shows up in the work. He knows why a well-filled pool under Eau Gallie's oaks stains, why an older Suntree pump needs a closer eye, and why a brand-new pool in West Melbourne needs more careful balancing in its first year than an older one.

He started his own company for a plain reason: he wanted to do reliable, trustworthy work the way he thought it should be done, without a schedule so full that corners had to be cut. Most customers who signed on in the first year are still customers. New ones mostly come from neighbors who noticed a pool that always looks right and asked who takes care of it.

What to expect on your first visit

Send the address and a note about the pool, and Chris replies with a rate, usually the same day. If the water is balanced, the pool goes onto the weekly schedule at the next route day for your area. If the pool has gone green, he looks at it first and quotes a green-to-clean recovery, then it joins the schedule. Weekly service is month to month with routine chemicals included, so there is no contract to sign and no surprise charge after a stormy week. You do not need to be home; gate access and a working pump are all he needs.

Why the name

"Honest" went on the truck before anything else. It means the rate you are quoted is the rate you pay, the visit you are promised is the visit you get, and when something at the pool is wrong you hear the truth about it, including when the truthful answer is that it can wait. Reliable and trusted are the other two words on the logo, and they are earned the same way: one week at a time, for years.
